On 8 August 2018, the Brazilian NCP received a submission from an individual claiming that Eni S.p.A., a multinational enterprise headquartered in Italy, engaged in defamation and brought a frivolous lawsuit against her in retaliation for her actions denouncing illegal conduct of the company’s directors. The individual had filed a submission concerning the companies conduct with the Brazilian NCP in 2013 and the Italian NCP in 2015. The Brazilian NCP concluded that the issues raised were not adequately substantiated and did not accept the case for further examination.
