In July 2003, the Netherlands NCP received a request for review by an NGO alleging that Chemie Pharmecie Holland BV, a multinational enterprise, had breached the employment and industrial relations, and environment provisions of the Guidelines in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After analysing the request the NCP concluded that it did not merit further consideration by the NCP due to a lack of investment nexis. The NCP however decided to issue a statement on the basis of the common values for responsible business conduct that are reflected in the Guidelines.
