Summary

In May 2011, the US NCP received a request for review from a trade union alleging that a US multinational enterprise had breached the general policies, and employment and industrial relations provisions of the Guidelines in India.


The US NCP obtained information from all relevant parties, including local government authorities and the US Embassy. The issues raised in the specific instances were subject to parallet judicial proceedings by Indian state administrative authorities.


On 27 January 2012, the NCP issued a statement to parties declining to offer its good offices.
