Summary | Read the Final Statement published by the NCP 3 May 2023: Spanish On 3 August 2020, a group of relatives of a worker of a contractor company of Complejo Metalúrgico Altonorte S.A., an enterprise owned by Glencore, a Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company, submitted a specific instance to the Chilean NCP alleging that Complejo Metalúrgico Altonorte S.A. and Glencore had not observed the Human Rights (Chapter IV) and Employment and Industrial Relations (Chapter V) provisions of the Guidelines. Specifically, the issues concerned the death of a worker in the workplace, the related alleged lack of occupational safety, and regulations and training for workers at the contractor company, and an alleged lack of due diligence by Glencore. On 8 April 2021, while the Chilean NCP was still performing its initial assessment, the submitters informed that they would be withdrawing from the procedure due to an agreement reached with the company outside of the NCP process. On 3 May 2023, the NCP published its final statement concluding the case with agreement between the parties outside of the NCP process. The NCP issued the following recommendations to Glencore:
