Summary | Read the Initial Assessment published by the NCP 22 November 2024: English | French On 15 January 2024, Unite Here Local 11, a trade union, submitted a specific instance to the French NCP alleging that Air France, a company active in the transportation sector, had not observed the General Policies (Chapter II), Human Rights (Chapter IV), and Employment and Industrial Relations (Chapter V) provisions of the Guidelines. The issues related to an alleged breach of the Guidelines by one of Air France’s subcontractors, Flying food Group, which provides catering services in the United States on behalf of the French airline, and the related due diligence of Air France. Specifically, issues raised included infringement of trade union freedoms, minimum wage issues, and observance of occupational health and safety standards, lack of protective actions for workers facing discrimination, and breaches of workers’ COVID-related recall rights. On 22 November 2024, the NCP published an initial assessment deciding to accept the case for further examination. The NCP made an offer of good offices, which both parties accepted. #stakeholderengagement #duediligence #discrimination #FACB #labourconditions #hospitality #shippingandlogistics #coordination #parallelproceedings #confidentiality #ILOconventions |
