Workshop in China on responsible business conduct

The governments that adhere to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (the Guidelines) set up National Contact Points (NCPs) to promote responsible business conduct (RBC) and help resolve issues related to implementation of the Guidelines through good offices and mediation.


The purpose of this workshop was to exchange experiences and share information with the Chinese authorities, businesses and other stakeholders on RBC, the Guidelines and NCPs.


Agenda highlights included:

  • The importance of RBC for sustainable development
  • Overview of the Guidelines
  • National approaches to RBC and the role of the Guidelines
  • NCP mandate and core functioning criteria
  • Resolving issues related to RBC


This workshop was co-organised with the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Co-operation (CAITEC) and is part of the work programme on OECD-China RBC co-operation.
